Finer Builders is a small, owner-led general contractor in Southern California. We take on a limited number of custom homes, remodels, and additions each year so we can give every one our full attention. We’re design-forward by inclination, calm by temperament, and detail-obsessed by training — because a house you’re going to live in for decades deserves all three.

We take the brief from you. We listen first — to how you live, what you love, and what you wish were different about the spaces you’re in now. That conversation runs all the way through the project; it doesn’t stop once the plans are signed.
On site, the same people who priced the project run it. We keep the job site tidy. We post photos. We communicate weekly — or daily if that’s what you want. And when something isn’t right, we fix it before we leave.
Our work tends toward warm, tactile materials: natural plaster, soft-toned tile, white oak, aged metal, stone that ages gracefully. Clients who care just as much about how a doorway feels in the hand as they do about the paint color on the outside are who we build for.

Seth founded Finer Builders and runs construction in the field — calm under pressure, type-A about quality, and trusted by every sub on the job site. Every project we take on starts with him walking the property and ends with him signing off on the final punch list.
Blake handles preconstruction through close-out — schedules, budgets, subcontractor coordination, and homeowner communication — so every project stays organized and transparent from the first walkthrough on.
Paul brings two decades of fine residential construction to every project — a hands-on master builder who treats each home as if it were his own. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, so communication on site is clear with the entire crew, no translator needed.

Our master builder is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. That means the homeowner and every subcontractor on site are talking to the same person, in their own language, with no translator in between. Decisions land cleanly, work moves faster, and small problems get caught before they become expensive ones.

We carry general liability and workers’ comp on every project, and we’ll send certificates of insurance directly to your homeowners’ insurer on request.
